In the school year 1995-96 the Mission Committee of the Board of Trustees developed the "Mission Statement of St. Andrew's Episcopal School." The Board of Trustees adopted this statement in the spring of 1996:
"To nurture a diverse community in the Episcopal tradition, encouraging spiritual growth, moral responsibility, and academic excellence."
The Goals of the School are:
THE FIRST GOAL: To provide to academically motivated students a challenging college preparatory program comparable to programs offered by the best independent schools throughout the nation;
THE SECOND GOAL: To provide a religious framework in the Episcopal tradition that stimulates spiritual growth in our students, while being deeply respectful of the faiths of others;
THE THIRD GOAL: To provide ethnic and cultural diversity throughout the St. Andrew's community;
THE FOURTH GOAL: To provide performing and visual arts experiences within the curriculum for all students;
THE FIFTH GOAL: To provide a broad range of competitive athletic programs for all students, not just the most talented athletes;
THE SIXTH GOAL: To provide training in leadership by creating opportunities for student involvement in the larger community, as well as in the day-to-day life of the School.
St. Andrew's Episcopal School is an independent college preparatory school. Typically, 100 percent of our graduates go to four-year colleges and universities, many of which are among the most competitive and selective in the nation. Indeed, the School's curriculum is designed with this primary objective in mind, and graduation requirements are among the most stringent in the state.
